Sandra
Higgins is a dealer in fine art, art books and
objets d'art. She has over 25 years experience
in visual arts. Starting as an artist she then
became a teacher and art historian/lecturer. She
moved from Chicago to London in the 1980’s
and opened her own contemporary art gallery in
Mayfair which became known for its atelier-like
atmosphere where clients were able to meet artists
in informal and intimate surroundings.
Continuing with that personal approach and style, she has dealt privately from her premises in a Victorian artistís studio in Blackheath (featured in the photographs) for the past 15 years. This year, Sandra decided move her business and turned her home in Southeast London into a gallery and showplace to feature the works of artists she represents. Works can be viewed at her home by appointment and plans for a series of private views are currently being arranged. Her stock is an eclectic mix of drawings, prints, paintings, and photography, sculpture and art books: genres include abstraction, surrealism and magic realism.
In addition, Sandra has just begun an exciting new collaboration with Austin Interior Design in Chelsea. She has created an exhibition space/gallery at the design studio where works of artists she represents can also be viewed by appointment. The central London venue is quite unique and is now ready for clients to visit.
